Dignity, Equality, Freedom: Enforcing International Human Rights Standards in Haiti (October 2013)

The workshop Dignity, Equality, & Freedom: Enforcing International Human Rights Standards in Port-au-Prince, Haiti held on October 7-11, 2013 assembled participants from SEROvie, FACSDIS and KOFAVIV to discuss human rights abuses based on sexual orientation, gender and gender identity. The participants engaged in activities aimed at learning how to document, advocate, and frame abuses under international human rights law. The workshop produced a list of recommendations on measures to increase safety, enhance legal protection, and facilitate access to social services for members of the LGBT community in Haiti, and ways to curb violence and discrimination against them.
