There is no feminist foreign policy that can co-exist with our patriarchal, militarized status quo. If we truly succeed in placing feminist values at the heart of US foreign policy, what grows from that will be unlike anything we’ve seen before. A more peaceful and just future depends on it.

The Iraqi Parliament passed the Yazidi Female Survivors Law on March 1, 2021, legally recognizing ISIS crimes against Iraq’s Yazidi community as genocide and mandating reparations for Yazidi women survivors.

The assessment offers recommendations for how MADRE and our Iraqi partners can contribute to and support current efforts, fill documentation gaps, and utilize a gender lens to the threats and violence faced by the priority communities.

These articles are meant to support the ground-level organizing led by Afro-Colombian women, by bringing international attention and legal analysis to the lived realities of Afro-Colombian communities as they work for racial and gender justice.

To achieve our vision of a world in which people enjoy the fullest range of human rights, we must confront all forms of systemic marginalization, key among them racial injustice and white supremacy.

We need everyone from all walks of life to be part of this movement.
